Muscle Release Technique tm
A unique injury therapy that combines compression, extension, movement, and breath to give the therapist a tool to provide, in many cases, relief from pain in one treatment. With the Muscle Release TechniqueSM scar tissue is broken up, the muscle is lengthened, muscle memory is restored and relief from pain starts immediately.
Deep Tissue
Releases the chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep finger pressure on the contracted areas, either following or going across the grain of muscles, tendons and fascia. It is called deep tissue, because it also focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue.
Neuromuscular Therapy
Works very specifically with each muscle from one attachment site to the other (origin and insertion on the bone) and across the belly and length of the muscle to release areas of tension and pain. Sometimes for one muscle to be accessed it is necessary to palpate beneath another muscle. Neuromuscular training is specific in this way. With attention to these details of a muscle’s structure you can access areas that frequently aren’t touched in other types of massage and increase circulation to the muscle thereby alleviating pain.
Trigger Point Therapy
Applies concentrated finger pressure to "trigger points" (painful irritated areas in muscles that trigger a response in another area) and muscle attachments to break cycles of spasm and pain.
Myofascial Release
A form of bodywork that is manipulative in nature and seeks to rebalance the body by releasing tension in the fascia. Long, stretching strokes are utilized to release muscular tension.
Cranialsacral Therapy
A technique for finding and correcting cerebral and spinal imbalances or blockages that may cause sensory, motor or intellectual dysfunction.
Swedish Massage
A system of long strokes, kneading and friction techniques on the more superficial layers of the muscles, combined with active and passive movements of the joints.
Reiki
An energetic “Hands On Healing” technique that balances the energy of the body mind and spirit. Rei and Ki are Japanese words for power that when used in combination mean “Great Power, or Universal Life Force, God Power” Chi is the Chinese equivalent as in Tai Chi or Japanese Aikido the martial arts that access the same life force. There are several degrees of Reiki that represent different levels of intensification of the Reiki energy and different techniques. Second degree Reiki has a technique for balancing emotional body with the physical body.
